Students and graduates at De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) have paid numerous heartfelt tributes to former lecturer Godfrey Moyo after a lecture theatre was named in his honour.

Godfrey, 60, had taught at DMU for 15 years as a senior lecturer in Mental Health Nursing within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.
Earlier this week, the university has named a lecture theatre in Edith Murphy House in memory of the former lecturer.
Since the naming ceremony was held, dozens of friends and former students have expressed their condolences and shared their memories of Godfrey on social media.
Helen Osborn Whitsey wrote: “Lovely man and honoured to have been taught by him, his teaching will stay me for the rest of my life, not just my career, well done DMU.”

Jess Burdett said: “This is a beautiful tribute. I feel very privileged that I had the honour to be taught by this wonderful man.
“He was my personal tutor in the years before he passed away and I know as a tutor group and a cohort we were all devastated.”
At the renaming ceremony, Godfrey’s widow unveiled a plaque commemorating her husband following some touching testimonies to Godfrey’s memory. He was celebrated as a hugely passionate and devoted lecturer and true friend to many members of staff and students throughout DMU.
In a show of gratitude to her father’s peers, Godfrey’s daughter Denise said: “This is a great gesture in my daddy’s memory, I can’t thank you enough. Thank you so much. The best daddy in the world doesn’t exist anymore, that’s because he’s in heaven.”
On the DMU Facebook page, Marie Kisto wrote: “Godfrey was truly inspirational and will always be remembered fondly. Was a fantastic role model to all who knew him.”
